MICHAEL Timlin insists he will be full of pride when he makes his 200th appearance for Southend United tonight.

The 31-year-old will bring up the double century in Blues’ clash against Oxford United in the second round of the Checkatrade Trophy at Roots Hall this evening.

And Timlin is keen to celebrate the landmark in style.

“I want to make as many appearances as possible for Southend so I’m proud and pleased to be making it to 200,” said Timlin, who joined Blues on a permanent basis in January 2012 following two successful loan spells.

“It certainly adds something extra to the game and, although we know the fans at every club are unhappy with the situation in the Trophy, it’s a competition we’re taking very seriously.

“We’ve been on a good run lately and we feel like we have something good happening now so we want to keep it going.

“And we want to get to Wembley too.”
