SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown is keen to strengthen his team at both ends of the pitch during the January transfer window.
Brown has handed his wish-list to the Shrimpers’ hierarchy.
And it is a new defender and a striker which are the main priority for the 57-year-old.
“My wish-list has gone in and it’s a new centre-back and a new striker which I think we most need,” said Brown.
“We’re short of options at the centre of defence with Ryan Inniss still out injured so we need to bring someone in.
“We’re down to three strikers now too so that’s another area I think we need to strengthen, especially with David Mooney still out injured.”
Brown has until the end of January to strengthen his squad.
