SOUTHEND United’s under 21 side are in action at Leyton Orient this afternoon but none of the first team will be in the starting line-up.
Shrimpers boss Phil Brown had been toying with the idea of playing fit-again left-back Ben Coker against the O’s.
But Brown has instead decided to stick with Blues’ young players.
“We thought about including Ben but he’s going to have a good week of training behind him instead,” said the Southend boss.
“It’s going to be the young lads and it’s another good opportunity for them to show what they can do.”
The game gets underway at 1pm.
