SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown has revealed he regrets not signing new boy Theo Robinson in the summer.

Robinson, who has now signed a two and a half year deal with the Shrimpers, was on trial at Roots Hall in July.

And Brown now admits he should have snapped up the 28-year-old before the start of the season.

“I do probably regret not signing Theo in the summer now,” said the Blues boss.

“At the time I thought we were closer to signing other strikers than we actually were but fair play to Theo because he went to Lincoln and he’s been pulling up trees.

“He’s done well against the bigger boys in the FA Cup and brings pace to our attack which I think is important.”
