NILE Ranger is gunning for his first home Southend United goal when Walsall visit Roots Hall this weekend.
All five of Ranger’s strikes for the Shrimpers so far this season have come on the road.
And the 25-year-old is keen to buck the trend in Saturday’s showdown with the Saddlers.
“I need to get a goal at Roots Hall and I’ve been thinking about that this week,” said Ranger, who has failed to net in eight home appearances this term.
“When goals come they come but it’s more about the team if I’m honest. I want to put in a performance for the team and I don’t really care about goals. I know they are important but it’s more about getting the points and we need on Saturday.”
Seventh placed Blues go into the game a point off the play-off places.
