SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown will be hoping to pop champagne bottles at AFC Wimbledon tomorrow.

The game at Kingsmeadow will mark Brown’s fourth year in charge of the Shrimpers.

But Brown will only be celebrating if his side record a third successive win.

“I’m proud to have made it to four years in charge of Southend and I’ll be celebrating it with a glass of champagne after the game, but only if we win,” said the 57-year-old.

“Not many managers get to four years at a club now so it shows that everybody here is doing something right.

“But I’m only really thinking about the game because it’s important we get another three points against very tough opponents as we look to make sure of a place in the play-offs.”

Blues go into the game in sixth place ahead of AFC Wimbledon who are currently 13th in the League One standings.
