YOUNG Southend United strikers Dan Walker and Norman Wabo have joined Cambridge City on loan.
The teenagers will be hoping to help the Evo Stik Southern Premier strugglers avoid relegation.
And Blues boss Phil Brown believes it will be a good experience for both forwards.
“It’s always good for young players to go out and get some wool on their backs in men’s football,” said Brown.
“Norman and Dan have gone to Cambridge and we may look at sending one or two others out if it’s the right thing for them to do.
“The youngsters we have are all at different stages of their development and there are players in there like Harry Phillips and Renei Batlokwa who still need to mature physically.
“But we will have a look at what comes up.”
Winger Nico Cotton is already out on loan at Ryman Premier League side Lowestoft Town and has been producing a number of fine displays.
“Nico has been doing really well,” said Brown.
“It’s frustrating that his matches have all been on Saturdays so I haven’t been able to see him play but I know what he can do and his mentality has improved since going there.”
>BLUES’ under 21 team are in action at Swindon Town today. Striker David Mooney is expected to figure.
