JACK Bridge could leave Southend United this summer - despite still having a year left on his Shrimpers contract.

The 21-year-old midfielder made just one start for Blues last season.

And Southend boss Phil Brown could now opt to let Bridge leave.

“I’ve spoken with Jack’s agent and I know he’s frustrated at not having played more in the first team so we could decide to listen to offers for him this summer,” said Brown.

“I understand Jack wants to play more and something could happen in the next few weeks.”

Bridge - a former Eastwood School pupil - grew up supporting Blues and came through the club’s youth system.

He has made nine appearances for the first team.
