SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown is keen to complete his transfer business far quicker this summer.
The Shrimpers endured a slow start to last season as new signings struggled to find full fitness.
And Brown is determined to avoid a repeat.
“Ideally we want to get the transfers done far earlier this time so that those coming in get a full pre-season,” said the Blues boss.
“It’s not always possible for that to happen but it’s certainly what we’re aiming for.”
However, Brown is hoping he will not have to make too many new signings.
“Right now I’m focusing on keeping our players we’re in talks with,” said Brown. “If we do that then I think we will only need three or four signings.”
