SOUTHEND United centre-back Adam Thompson is set to remain in the Northern Ireland squad, Echosport understands.
Thompson has been training with Michael O’Neill’s side in Manchester this week.
And he is now expected to stay in the squad for Northern Ireland’s forthcoming games against New Zealand and Azerbaijan.
The friendly with New Zealand takes place at Windsor Park this Friday before the World Cup qualifier againt Azerbaijan will be played at the Tofig Bahramov Stadium on Saturday June 10.
