MICHAEL Turner is to head to Spain for pre-season training with Southend United, Echosport understands.
The 33-year-old centre-back was released by Norwich City at the end of last season.
And Blues boss Phil Brown - who worked with Turner while at Hull City - is now interested in bringing the experienced defender to Roots Hall.
The defender will be in the Southend squad heading to Spain tomorrow morning.
The Shrimpers will spend seven days in Malaga before returning to face Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle in a behind closed friendly.
