MICHAEL Turner has completed a move to Southend United.

The experienced centre-back has signed a two year deal with the Shrimpers.

And Blues boss Phil Brown is delighted to be reunited with the 33-year-old who he previously worked with at Hull City.

“I’m delighted to be working with Michael again,” said Brown.

“The best and most successful year as a manager came when Michael was in the team and he’s a great character.

“He’s very down to earth, he doesn’t get too excited when we win or too down when we lose.

“He’s very level headed and is the type of person you need at the club when you’re looking at going for promotion.”

Turner, who was released by Norwich City at the end of last season, has also played for Sunderland and has made more than 430 appearances in his career.
