SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown is waiting to find out if Ryan Leonard will accept the new contract he has offered.
Blues chairman Ron Martin has opted to reject offers from Sheffield United and Millwall for the midfielder this summer.
And the Shrimpers have handed Leonard a new deal which Echosport understands is a three year contract with the option of an extra season.
Brown said: “It’s a very good, respectable offer which shows how much we value Ryan but we’re waiting to hear back from him.”
