RYAN Leonard will line up for Southend United in tonight’s pre-season friendly at Bishop’s Stortford.
Leonard missed Saturday’s 2-1 win at Braintree Town due to the ongoing speculation surrounding his future.
But Blues boss Phil Brown held talks with the midfielder yesterday morning and confirmed the 25-year-old - who is wanted by Championship club Sheffield United - is now ready to return to action.
“I’ve spoken to Lenny again because I thought it was important to settle things down and we’ve done that so he will start the game at Bishop’s Stortford,” said Brown.
“He needs the minutes just like everyone else as we continue to prepare for the start of the season and the game with Blackburn Rovers.”
