SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown felt his side produced an ‘acceptable’ display to draw 1-1 at Ebbsfleet on Saturday.
Trialist striker Amadou Ba bagged a second half equaliser for the Shrimpers.
And Brown was happy to see his side continue their preparations with a good test at Stonebridge Road.
“It was an acceptable performance and it was a good day at the office,” said Brown.
“It was a step up in standard because Ebbsfleet are a good team and I’m sure they will be looking at going for another promotion with the league experience they have in their team.
“But we can take a lot from this and the wet weather probably helped a few of the players get through the 90 minutes.”
