SOUTHEND United defender John White has apologised to the Shrimpers travelling fans following their 5-0 defeat at Rotherham United on Saturday.

The setback was Blues' biggest since 1998.

And White was quick to say sorry to the 529 Blues fans who made the long trip to the New York Stadium.

"We would like to apologise to the travelling fans," said White.

“They’re spending their hard earned money to come all this way and make some noise for us and we weren’t good enough.

"We have to do better against Plymouth on Saturday and we have to restore some pride."
