MICHAEL Timlin remains frustrated by Southend United’s 1-1 draw with Plymouth Argyle.

Ryan Edwards’ second half header secured the Pilgrims a share of the spoils at Roots Hall.

But Timlin was disappointed not to have taken all three points.

“We’re extremely disappointed because we felt as though we let Plymouth back in the game in the second half,” said Timlin.

“In the first half we dominated them but we knew they would come out more in the second half and that’s what they did.

“They changed their system but it seemed to take us longer to get going.

“Once they got the goal it was an easier game for them as they could sit off but it feels like a bit of a loss because we feel as though we should have raised our game a little bit more.”

However, the spirited showing was a vast improvement on Blues’ previous outing which saw them lose 5-0 at Rotherham United.

But Timlin is still keen for more, particularly as a defensive unit.

“There are still things to improve on and we pride ourselves as a team who don’t concede many goals,” explained Timlin.

“We haven’t really got that at the moment and we need to get it back but we hope the fans saw a big improvement.

“We had to show a reaction after what happened at Rotherham.

“We had to show the attitude that should have been there last week. “
