HARRY Forrester will be lining up for AFC Wimbledon at Roots Hall tonight but if things had worked out differently he could easily have been starring for the Shrimpers.

Blues boss Phil Brown tracked the midfielder for most of the summer in the build-up to the new season.

But, although the 58-year-old eventually opted to sign Michael Kightly, he still feels Forrester will be a big threat this evening.

“Harry was very close to signing for us back in the summer,” said Brown.

“It was between him and Michael Kightly but we managed to stop Michael going to America to play out there and I’m delighted we did.

“But Harry is a good player too and I think he will start for them.

“He came off the bench on Friday and there’s no doubt he’s a talent.

“He can win a game at this level and he’s someone we will have to keep a close eye on.

“Unfortunately I won’t have Michael available for a direct comparison because of his hamstring injury.

“But hopefully we will be able to marshal Harry and what he throws at us to help us get another three points.”

Forrester joined AFC Wimbledon on a season-long loan from Rangers but has yet to make a League start for the Dons.
