PHIL Brown believes Southend United’s next two games will define their season.
Blues host Peterborough United at Roots Hall tonight before hosting Bury this weekend.
And Brown feels both matches are of huge importance.
“These two games are very important and I think they will define our season in all honesty,” said Brown.
“I’m putting pressure on myself and the players to hang onto the coat-tails of the top six, so that’s why they are important.
“You’ve also got to be looking to win your home games and we haven’t been beaten at Roots Hall, so that’s a run we need to continue.”
The Shrimpers head into tonight’s game with Peterborough on the back of two successive defeats on the road.
The heavy setbacks saw Southend slip down to 15th in the League One table and Brown’s side are currently five points below the play-off positions with 13 games of the season gone.
