ECHOSPORT takes a closer look at tonight’s opponents Peterborough United.
THE SEASON SO FAR
Peterborough started the season in fine style, winning five of their first six games.
Posh were also beaten just once in their opening nine League games, but Grant McCann’s side have started to struggle in recent weeks and have now suffered three defeats in succession.
They arrive at Roots Hall tonight sitting seventh in the table, just a point below the play-off positions.
RECENT FORM
Peterborough have now gone four games without a win and have been beaten in their last three League games.
Posh suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at home to struggling Gillingham on Saturday and will be desperate to get back to winning ways this evening.
STYLE OF PLAY
Peterborough started the season in a 3-4-1-2 formation but have switched to a 4-4-2 for many of their more recent matches.
Posh set out to be positive in most games but have been better when hitting teams on the break due to the pace of Jack Marriott.
DANGERMAN
Jack Marriott has bagged nine goals in 12 League One outings since signing for a reported £450,000 from Luton Town in the summer.
TEAM NEWS
Midfield summer signing Michael Doughty is unlikely to return after missing Saturday’s defeat with a back injury. Striker Junior Morias (thigh) is a long-term injury victim.
PREDICTED STARTING LINE-UP
Bond, Taylor, Baldwin, Tafazolli, Da Silva Lopes, Grant, Forrester, Edwards, Lloyd, Maddison, Miller.
