BLUES boss Phil Brown believes he is currently enduring his unluckiest spell as a manager.

The Shrimpers had two goals disallowed for offside during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Oxford United.

And Brown was again left ruing his side’s lack of good fortune in front of goal.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been involved in a game which has had two goals ruled out for offside before and I don’t think I’ve ever been this unlucky in front of goal before either,” said the 58-year-old.

“Nile Ranger’s header was definitely offside but where Michael Turner is concerned I will question it with the referee because I need to know that rule.

“Michael was played the ball by the opposition and in old money that’s not offside.

“It’s actually hit both of their defenders and it’s probably the first time Michael Turner has ever been offside in his career. “

Blues also wasted some clear cut chances to score against the U’s and Brown felt they should have taken all three points.

“The game should have been dead and buried before they scored, before half-time and in the last 15 to 20 minutes as well,” he added.
