ECHOSPORT takes a closer look at tomorrow’s opponents Fleetwood Town with the help of Cod Army fan Ben Knapman.
THE SEASON SO FAR
The season so far has been very inconsistent. Fleetwood started off with three League wins and three clean sheets in a row but not long after that they went eight games without a win and went down to as low as 17th. But since then two consecutive away wins have taken the team back up to 13th in the table with a game in hand.
RECENT FORM
Fleetwood have lost just one of their last five games and held Premier League side Leicester City to a 0-0 draw in the third round of the FA Cup last weekend.
STYLE OF PLAY
Fleetwood are again expected to line-up in a 4-3-3 formation this weekend and are said to favour playing counter-attacking football.
DANGERMAN
Devante Cole is Fleetwood’s top scorer, with 12 goals this season, while Ashley Hunter has been a big threat down the left hand side. Town also hope new signing Paddy Madden will prove to be a key player.
TEAM NEWS
Defender Ash Eastham is a doubt but midfielder George Glendon is expected not to figure due to his involvement in an ongoing court case.
PREDICTED LINE-UP: Neal, Coyle, Bolger, Pond, Bell, Diagouraga, Schwabl, Dempsey, Hunter, Hiwula, Cole.
