WE were all sad to see the manager lose his job this week.

We had the belief that things were going to turn around for us but the chairman has made a decision and, as professional footballers, we have to get on with it.

We went out as normal to train yesterday and everyone worked hard ahead of what is a big game at Rochdale at the weekend.

In recent weeks we haven’t done very well against the teams below us - losing at AFC Wimbledon and Northampton Town - so we need to be doing better on Saturday.

Rochdale aren’t doing as well as they normally do this season and we have to be ready to go there and battle.

It could be a bit of a dog-fight but we’ve got to be ready for that and, although we obviously want a win, I don’t think a point would be a bad result there either.

It would stop the rot and give us something to build on, but three points would be much better.

Ricky (Duncan) and Kev (Maher) will be in charge and training was good yesterday.

They told us what they knew, what the plan was and what they expected from us.

It was all very positive and from looking at the training session you’d have to say confidence isn’t a problem among the lads at the moment.

It’s tough to always do what we want to do with the way the pitches are at the training ground but you just have to get on with it and do the best you can.

All the focus is now on the game on Saturday and I’m sure the fans making the journey will be right behind us and what we’re trying to achieve.

I think it’s really time for us all to be in this as one and to show the togetherness we need to work our way back up the league table by putting together a run of good results, starting tomorrow against Rochdale.
