SOUTHEND United winger Michael Kightly suffered a hamstring injury during tonight’s 0-0 draw at Bury.
Kightly had scored three goals in the last four games ahead of tonight’s clash at Gigg Lane.
But Blues boss Chris Powell fears the 32-year-old will now be spending time on the sidelines.
“Sadly it looks like we’ve lost Michael Kightly,” said Powell.
“I’m not sure how long he will be out but hopefully not too long.
“He felt a twinge in his hamstring and that’s what can happen when you have three games in a week.
“He’s looked lively but when you lose a player it creates an opportunity for someone else which they have to make sure they take.”
Kightly went off at half-time against the Shakers and was replaced out wide by Jermaine McGlashan.
