ECHOSPORT takes a closer look at tomorrow’s opponents Doncaster Rovers.
THE SEASON SO FAR
Doncaster, who were promoted from League Two last season, are currently 15th in the standings with 42 points from 35 matches. Rovers had been enjoying a solid season but have struggled since the turn of the year.
RECENT FORM
Doncaster have triumphed just once in 11 games in 2018.
STYLE OF PLAY
For much of the season, Doncaster had attempted to play attack minded possession based football but, in recent weeks, there has been a back to basics approach. Defenders are now instructed to simply defend and clear the ball rather than trying to bring the ball down and play.
DANGERMAN
Alex Kiwomya: The striker made his debut for Rovers last month, more than six months after signing. He contracted the rare auto-immune disorder Guillain-Barré syndrome last summer, which threatened his career, but he is now in fine form in attack and scored in the recent 3-0 win against Fleetwood.
TEAM NEWS
Defenders Joe Wright and Mathieu Baudry are both available again, but fellow centre-back Andy Boyle is a doubt with a groin problem. Club captain Andy Butler is definitely out with a knee injury along with defender Tom Anderson (cheekbone) and forward Alfie Beestin (ankle), who both got injured last time out.
PREDICTED LINE-UP: Lawlor, Blair, Wright, Baudry, Mason, Houghton, Whiteman, Rowe, Coppinger, Marquis, Kiwomya.
