SOUTHEND United boss Chris Powell and right-back Jason Demetriou have both missed out on winning League One awards.

Powell won three of his four games in charge during February to be named on a four man shortlist for manager of the month.

But the prize was given to Plymouth Argyle manager Derek Adams who won all five of his games during the month.

Shrimpers right-back Demetriou enjoyed a month to remember, scoring three goals in four games while also helping to secure two clean sheets to be nominated for player of the month.

However, Blackburn striker Adam Armstrong – who netted four goals in five games won the award.
