ECHOSPORT takes a closer look at tomorrow’s opponents with the help of Blackpool Gazette reporter Matt Scrafton.

What have you made of the season so far?

“It started off superbly with Blackpool continuing the momentum they gained from last season, which ended with the Seasiders finishing the campaign strongly to go into the League Two play-offs, where they triumphed in the final against Exeter City.

"Pool were on the cusp of the play-offs early doors, but a dip in form over the winter months saw them plunge down the table to just above the relegation zone.

"But things have picked up again in the last month or so.”

There seems to be a lot going on off the field at Blackpool. What’s the latest?

“This is an extremely difficult question to answer because by the time the paper comes out things are likely to have changed!

"But Owen Oyston remains in charge, for now, although he is under massive pressure as he still owes former director Valeri Belokon in the region of £25m.

"He’s struggling to pay that and supporters are hoping that will force a regime change.

"Belokon, who first invested in the club back in 2006 and helped them reach the Premier League four years later, is currently banned from holding high office by the EFL, but is hopeful of having that overturned.

"If that happens, that could see Belokon take over - something Pool’s fanbase are desperate to see.”

Who is the dangerman?

“Kyle Vassell.”

Predicted starting line-up: Lumley, Turton, Tilt, Robertson, Daniel, Ryan, Spearing, Longstaff, Philliskirk, Solomon-Otabor, Vassell
