JASON Demetriou insists Southend United still have plenty to play for this season.
The 15th placed Shrimpers, who lost 2-0 at Oxford United on Saturday, have just four games left to play this term.
But Demetriou wants Blues to finish on a high.
“People might think we don’t have anything to play for, but I don’t agree with that at all,” said the right-back.
“We have lads out of contract who will be trying to get another deal and even those of us who have contracts will want to show the new manager we want to be part of his plans for next season.
“Saturday was disappointing, but we’ve made progress and next season looks promising.
“But we want to go into it on a high by making sure we do well in our remaining matches and everyone is fired up to make sure that happens.”
