JOSH Wright, Anthony Wordsworth and Jermaine McGlashan have all left Southend United, Echosport understands.

Wright and Wordsworth were not with the Shrimpers squad which walked round the pitch at the end of Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers to thank the Roots Hall faithful for their support.

But Blues boss Chris Powell opted to keep quiet about the players’ futures.

“It’s something I’ll confirm in the week,” said the 48-year-old.

“There are always going to be rumours but I think it’s right for me as manager to announce everything in one go.

“When it comes to the end of the season and people don’t see someone in the squad they put two and two together and don’t get four.

“But people will know for sure by the middle of next week.”

Wordsworth joined Blues in the summer of 2015 and scored 19 goals in 88 games.

The 29-year-old shone brightly last season and became the first Shrimpers central midfielder to get into double figures with goals for nine years.

However, Wordsworth has struggled this time around and injury problems have restricted him to 23 starts, many of which he made while not being fully fit.

And the midfielder took to Twitter to confirm his departure.

"I can confirm that I have left the club," said Wordsworth.

"Unfortunately a couple ofinjuries only allowed me to start 71 games, scoring 19 goals from midfield.

"Will miss the boys. Thank you and good luck next season."

Wright - who joined Blues back in August - also spent time on the sidelines and made 26 appearances this term.

It was thought the midfielder had triggered an extra year in his contract with those games.

But the 28-year-old will now be looking for a new club.

McGlashan, who has spent the last two season with Blues, was on the bench for Saturday’s clash.

But the winger seemed to confirm his departure on Instagram.

He wrote: “Thanks to all the fans, players and staff. It’s been a pleasure. All the best in the future.”

McGlashan made 69 appearances for the Shrimpers but played just 63 minutes following Powell’s arrival at the end of January.
