SOUTHEND United are among are host of clubs interested in signing striker Lyle Taylor.

The 28-year-old striker scored 18 goals for AFC Wimbledon last season and is now wanted by a number of clubs after failing to agree a new contract with the Dons.

Taylor first came to prominence in south-east Essex after a prolific spell with Concord Rangers saw him snapped up by Bournemouth back in 2010 when the Cherries were lining up in League One.

Since then the forward has played for Hereford, Falkirk, Sheffield United, Partick Thistle and Scunthorpe United.

Taylor previously played in a trialist match for the Shrimpers during Paul Sturrock's spell in charge.
