BLUES boss Paul Sturrock is keen to shake up his starting line-up for tonight’s game against Gillingham.

But the Scotsman must first wait to find out who is fit to play.

Sturrock admitted to running out of patience with several of his players following a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Swindon Town on Saturday.

However, he is not yet sure how many changes he can make.

“I would like to make some alterations but I’m not sure if I will have the personnel to be able to do that,” said Sturrock.

“We have Neil Harris and Bilel Mohsni having late fitness tests, Lee Sawyer is definitely still out, Liam Dickinson is suspended and Jean-Paul Kalala hasn’t played many matches lately so it’s a difficult team to pick.

“I will have to wait and see what forwards we have fit before deciding the rest of the side but we certainly need a reaction to the weekend because it was a very disappointing performance.

Blues, who also have Peter Gilbert and Michael Timlin pushing for a place in the team, failed to impressed against Swindon and have now slumped to 12th in the League Two standings.

Sturrock will therefore hope to immediately return to winning ways against the Gills.

But he is expecting another difficult encounter.

“Gillingham are a good side and they will make it tough for us,” said Sturrock.

“You would expect them to be up there this season but these are the type of games you like to be a part of.

“We were in on Sunday to work on our shape and hopefully that can make us harder to break down.”

Sturrock and the squad also talked through the Swindon defeat before beginning training.

And he also wants that to have a positive impact on the team.

“I went through a few things but the discussion wasn’t all one way which I was pleased about,” said Sturrock.

“It’s sometimes good to have these kinds of talks and hopefully it will help us to produce a much better performance tomorrow.”
