BILEL Mohsni has revealed he does not know if he has a future at Southend United.

The 25-year-old utility man will definitely not line up for Blues at Burton Albion tomorrow.

But, speaking to the Echo exclusively from France, Mohsni insisted he was injured and had returned home because of a family problem.

“I’ve read on the internet people saying I’ve left but nobody has told me anything like that,” said Mohsni.

“I’m back in France at the moment because I need to be with my family and my toe has swollen up again after it got stamped on at Morecambe.

“If I was in Southend then I wouldn’t be able to train or play anyway and it’s been nice being back in France.

“The chairman has rung me since I’ve been here to make sure my family problem is OK and he’s a very nice man.

“So is the manager and the team and the fans so I would definitely be happy to come back to Southend but I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Mohsni lost his cool at Morecambe last Saturday after coming off midway through the second half.

He did not shake the hand of his replacement Elliot Benyon on his way off the pitch before travelling home on the train and not the team coach.

However, Mohsni was keen to explain his behaviour.

“I asked to come off because my toe was badly hurt and I honestly did not mean to not shake Elliot’s hand,” said Mohsni.

“I like him, he’s a nice player and I apologise for not shaking his hand as I wasn’t concentrating properly and was thinking about how I had to ice my toe.

“I was also angry because I felt I had let the team down with my performance.

“I asked after the game if I could go to France and the manager said it was fine.

“That’s why I got the train to the airport straight away.

“All my stuff is in France so I didn’t need to go back to Southend first.

“Plenty of players also don’t get the team coach home anyway but it only seems to be a bad thing when it’s me.”
