Defender Ryan Cresswell on Southend United's radar
SOUTHEND United are in talks with Rotherham defender Ryan Cresswell.
The 24-year-old centre-back has met Blues chiefs to discuss a switch to Roots Hall.
But Oxford United and AFC Wimbledon are also said to be monitoring Cresswell’s situation.
Cresswell started his career with Sheffield United and spent time on loan with Halifax, Morecambe and Macclesfield before joining Bury in July 2008.
The defender had two seasons with the Shakers before joining Rotherham in the summer of 2010.
He has since made 43 appearances for the Millers and has scored 10 goals.
The Echo also understands that Christian Dailly is close to committing his future to Blues.
The 38-year-old made three appearances last term after signing in mid-March before a broken toe brought his season to a premature end. But he is now expected to remain at the club next term.
Blues also remain in talks with Aldershot left-back Anthony Straker.
