Excellent news, thanks to ALL concerned including Freddy, but let's recall how so much was achieved before with the help of Goater to shield and provide the ball to him. Ones hopes are now somewhat raised already for success.

Welcome back Sir Freddy of Eastwood.

Just having you around will be great for our football club and whilst 20+ goals for next season would be great, just focus on enjoying your football again and let the crowd be your spirit and energy.

Good luck Freddy. Stay fit and the season ahead will be a great one!

It would appear that we have made some good signings, but I feel your comment is a tad optomistic.

southendshrimper sums it up perfectly by saying "great signing but please get a goal keeper in."

I'm sure Bentley is a capable young keeper, but he is only 19 and inexperienced. We need an experienced keeper and fast.

Richard Wright anyone? He wants to play for a club in East Anglia!

Excuse my excitement but I live in the United States so post from afar! I actually think that the most pertinent point was made by Barnet Shrimper says...

I had forgotten the immense contribution that 'old goat' made for Freddy and The Blues, back in the day. But the possibility of a fit Barry Corr and a re-energised and fit Freddy Eastwood, leading the attack for Southend fills me with confidence and optimism! As for a goalkeeper I have never seen Bentley play at any level, neither do I understand the trouble Blues are having getting one signed.
