Embargo end lets Southend United snap up loan man

Paul Sturrock - closing in on a new signing
SOUTHEND United are set to bolster their squad ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Rotherham United after coming out of a transfer embargo.
Blues boss Paul Sturrock had been forced to work with a depleted squad in recent weeks.
But the Echo can reveal that the transfer restrictions have now been lifted and Sturrock is expected to take full advantage right away by completing the loan signing of a utility player today.
“A deal has been agreed and should be completed before tomorrow’s game at Rotherham,” said a source close to the club.
“The club are not willing to speak about it until the deal is done but it’s positive news that Paul has been able to bring someone in.
“The signing will also give everyone a boost before what is a hard and important game at Rotherham tomorrow.”
Blues make their first ever visit to the Millers’ New York Stadium this weekend, occupying 12th in the League Two table.
Rotherham are currently two places higher than Blues and have played a game less but both sides are locked level on 15 points.
