Yoann Folly training with Southend United to resume full fitness
YOANN Folly has revealed he is training with Southend United to resume full fitness but would welcome the chance to join the League Two club.
The 27-year-old midfielder has played for Blues in pre-season friendlies against West Ham and Stambridge United.
And he would jump at the opportunity to again team up with Southend manager Paul Sturrock.
“I’m unattached at the moment so if I did have the chance to come to Southend then of course I would be interested,” said Folly.
“But nothing has been mentioned about a move and my agent just asked if I could come in because I know the manager here and needed to get fit.”
Folly has previously worked with Sturrock at Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth argyle.
However, he has not played professionally January 2011 when he lined up for Aberdeen against Dundee United after which he was diagnosed with a mystery illness which had been causing him to suffer blood clots.
But he now feels ready to resume his career.
“I want to get back playing and hopefully if I do well with Southend then it will increase the chances of me getting a new club,” added Folly.
