BILLERICAY Town have signed East Thurrock United captain Steve Sheehan.
Sheehan, 24, has skippered Rocks for the past two seasons and was part of the team that helped them secure promotion in the 2010/11 season.
The centre-back was at New Lodge to watch Billericay’s opening day win over Grays Athletic but was not registered in time to play.
And Craig Edwards’ said he was an excellent addition to the Town squad.
“I know Stevie well and I know he will bring a lot of quality to this squad. We have (Rich) Halle and (Ryan) Scott and we saw how good Dunne was at the back today so we have some excellent competition for places at the moment.
“Halle is still suspended for Tuesday’s match but we still have plenty of good options.”
Sheehan, who has also played for Canvey Island, has already joined up with Billericay and will go straight into their squad to face Leiston on Tuesday.
