CONCORD Rangers are hoping to build on a tremendous opening day win against Bath City and put in a repeat performance at Ebbsfleet United tonight.

Beachboys boss Danny Cowley said he was approaching the first two games of the season as “free games” as Concord failed to take any points off their opponents last season. However, having already beaten Bath, Cowley and his team cross the River Thames with the hope of taking some more bonus points.

Ebbsfleet didn’t play on Saturday and will be kicking off their Conference South campaign tonight, hoping to build on last year’s success. They were set to play Salisbury but their expulsion from the league (subject to appeal) meant they had a free weekend, and they would have been impressed at Concord’s form.

Billericay Town, of the Ryman Premier, are travelling to Leiston after their opening day victory. Leiston also won at the weekend, defeating Wingate & Finchley 4-3 in a topsy-turvy game, but Craig Edwards will be hopeful of keeping another clean-sheet on the bounce, with Steve Sheehan set for his Town bow.

Rich Halle will return from suspension on Saturday.

Great Wakering Rovers will step out onto the Burroughs Park pitch for the first time this season, when they play rivals Brentwood Town.

Rovers came close to grabbing a point at promotion hopefuls Needham Market on Saturday but a late goal meant they came home empty handed.

Brentwood will be looking for their first points of the season, having been comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Thurrock on Saturday.
