HULLBRIDGE Sports have been rewarded with a home tie against Great Yarmouth Town in Round Three of the FA Vase.

Sports produced a tremendous performance to beat AFC Rushden & Diamonds 1-0 on Saturday, with Rory Clark scoring the only goal of the match.

And the Essex Senior League’s side only remaining representatives in the competition have been handed a favourable draw, with Great Yarmouth playing a tier below them in the Eastern Counties League First Division.

The Bloaters are currently 10th in that league, having won eight of their opening 14 games.

The match will be played on Saturday, December 6 and a victory would see Sports equal their achievements of last year, in which they were knocked out in round four by the eventual winners Sholing.

Sports have little time to reflect on their cup heroics as they host Haringey Borough in the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy tonight.

The second round match is a repeat of last year’s final, which Sports won 1-0 to claim their first ever piece of silverware, and Sports face a tough test against Haringey who have won 35 of their last 37 matches.

The match at Lower Road kick off at 7:45pm, with the winner playing Sawbridgeworth Town.

Southend Manor are on the road at Enfield 1893 in the memorial trophy.

Manor, who beat Stansted 3-1 in Round One, will play Clapton should they win.
