CONCORD Rangers scored a staggering seven goals as they smashed a hapless Farnborough.

The Beach Boys won 7-0 and the visitors will be sick of the sight of Concord, who have now scored 14 goals past them in three matches, having scored none in return.

A brace from Joe Gardner as well as goals from Lewis Taaffe, Gary Ogilvie, Steve Cawley, Taylor Miles and Sam Collins completed the rout for Danny Cowley’s side.

A week after Concord scored four against Boreham Wood in the FA Trophy they came away feeling they could have scored more.

Taaffe was a livewire in the early stages, and should have opened the scoring when he came face-to-face with Fulham loanee goalkeeper Dillon Barnes but his scuffed effort was cleared off the line.

The same man saw an effort tipped wide before Jack Lampe headed over when well placed.

But they did take the lead after 14 minutes. Gardner robbed Oli Treacher of the ball and scored off the inside of the post.

And the 24-year-old doubled Concord’s lead soon after, striking high into the net from a narrow angle.

Taaffe did get his name on the scoresheet after the half hour, nipping in to steal possession and striking home.

Gary Ogilvie returned to the starting line-up with a goal, as he volleyed through the goalkeeper’s legs before Cawley scored a superb fifth.

A flowing team move saw Gardner’s right wing run and cross find the striker at the far post and he headed powerfully into the corner.

Cawley turned provider for number six, when he crossed for Miles to drill home from the centre of the goal.

And Collins scored the final goal when he found the corner after a neat Miles pass.

Concord sit 13th after the win and have the best goal difference outside the top six.
