RYMAN PREMIER: East Thurrock United are confident of continuing their superb record against Met Police when they visit Rookery Hill tomorrow.

John Coventry says the team are in great spirits after back-to-back victories on the road and combined with an unbeaten record of seven games against the Met, since they were promoted to the Ryman Premier League, Rocks are in a buoyant mood.

Coventry has masterminded a 4-3 FA Cup win over tomorrow’s opposition already this season, but they head into the game a point behind the sixth-placed Met.

And Coventry, who has seen Rocks draw more home games than any other side (six) this term, says keeping that run going won’t be easy.

“Met Police are a good side - that goes without saying,” he said. “Having beaten them already in the cup this year will give us confidence heading into the game but we always seem to do well against the Met.

“I have a good record against a few sides in this league and keeping that going will be important tomorrow.

“They have struggled away from home this year so we will be looking to keep our unbeaten record going.”

Rocks haven’t lost in the league since September 23 and with Sam Higgins in fine goal scoring form – having netted his 18th goal of the season on Tuesday, Coventry believes his team has every chance of continuing that record.

Although they have a number of injury concerns. Connor Witherspoon, Dave Bryant, Manny Osei and Lewis Smith are doubts for the game, with Joe Paxman and Darren Phillips in contention.

Met Police have struggled on the road this season, winning only twice on the road in 11 attempts.
