Concord Rangers have loaned exciting young striker Alex Osborn from Conference South rivals Ebbsfleet United.

The versatile player, who can play in midfield, has also played for Grays Athletic and Thurrock and joins the Beach Boys on a month’s loan.

Having made more than 40 appearances for Ebbsfleet last term, the 21-year-old’s opportunities have been limited this campaign due to injury.

Although unconfirmed, it is believed a number of clubs including Maidstone United and Bishop’s Stortford were also interested in Osborn.

And Concord manager Danny Cowley says Osborn already knows many of the team, having spent pre-season with the club in the past.

“As soon as Alex became available we jumped at the chance to get him,” he said. “We were gazumped by Ebbsfleet before he joined them, as we can’t compete with them financially.

“He fits our DNA. I see him as a striker and I believe he can have a big contribution in the month he is here.

“He did have a hamstring injury but he has played four or five games for Ebbsfleet since then.”

Osborn will go into the squad for the Saturday’s match at St Albans City.
