FA VASE
Flackwell Heath 3-0 Hullbridge Sports
HULLBRIDGE Sports’ FA Vase journey came to an end when they exited the competition at the fourth round for the second season in succession.
Sports were blown away in the first half by an impressive Flackwell Heath side, of the Hellenic Premier Division.
Heath had won 16 of the last 22 games and they continued that fine run against the Essex side.
An even opening of the game saw both sides test the opposition goalkeeper, but it was the home side that took the lead midway through the first half.
Daniel Rapley scored the goal after a neat passing move, which saw the striker shoot from outside the box and beyond the unsighted Bobby Mason.
The lead was doubled five minutes before halftime, when Dan Burnell picked up the ball and hit a beauty beyond Mason.
And the result was made safe when the same player scored from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time.
Sports tried to make a game of it in the second half, but couldn’t make their mark on the game and went out.
