BILLERICAY Town's Essex Senior Cup quarter-final against Brightlingsea Regent tonight has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

After a pitch inspection (at 3:15pm) it was deemed the New Lodge pitch was unplayable, only 48 hours after Town had beaten Leatherhead 2-0.

The match, which has already been rescheduled once, will now be played next Monday with Town's League Cup clash against AFC Hornchurch set to be rescheduled.

*The club have also released defender Glenn O’Hanlon and winger Nathan Ferguson.

Former Arsenal trainee O’Hanlon departs New Lodge having joined at the start of the season, with Ferguson released after failing to break into the team.

Town manager Craig Edwards said O’Hanlon couldn’t offer the necessary commitment having secured a new job, while Ferguson also couldn’t offer the necessary commitment.

*Town are also looking for a goalkeeper, after number one stopper Billy Lumley announced he was moving to Australia.
