ROUND-UP: Concord Rangers manager Danny Cowley believes his side will have to be at their best to get a positive result at Basingstoke Town tomorrow.

The Beach Boys travel to the fourth-placed outfit looking to avenge their narrow 3-2 defeat at the Aspect Arena earlier in the season.

They have already taken points off the top eight sides this season but Cowley says this could prove to be the toughest test yet.

“We watched Basingstoke play against Boreham Wood earlier in the season and it was probably the best performance I have seen from a Conference South side this season,” he said. “Winning 4-0 at Boreham Wood is quite an achievement. They are a well-organised team and have a very good understanding with each other.

“They have the likes of James Harper who has played in the Premier League for Reading so that says a lot about the quality of their players.

“It is a really difficult ask but we will give it our best shot.”

Concord have Alex Woodyard suspended for the next two matches after he accumulated 10 yellow cards this season.

East Thurrock United visit Leatherhead in the Ryman Premier League as they look to overcome their inconsistent recent form.

Rocks have taken only five points from the last 18 available as they look to secure a top five finish this term.

However, with all the other sides in and around the play-off places also dropping points, Rocks are only two points behind fifth-placed Hendon, although they do have a number of games in hand over John Coventry’s side.

Rocks scraped a draw in the reverse fixture, with Sam Higgins scoring a last-minute equaliser. Leatherhead sit 12th in the division, although a win would take them to within five points of Rocks.

Great Wakering Rovers manager Dan Trenkel has labelled their visit to Heybridge Swifts as their biggest game of the season so far.

Rovers have won only one of the last seven league games, but travel to Heybridge following last Saturday’s morale-boosting 2-2 draw against promotion-chasing Dereham Town.

“We’ve done well to get to the position we are in,” he said, “but the bottom half is so tight that games against those around you take on huge importance.

“They have changed a lot of their squad recently and they have improved performances and results so it’s going to be a very difficult game for us but one where we need to pick up something to maintain some sort of gap to those below us.”

Rovers have a fully squad to choose from, with only John-Joe Slater (ankle) missing out.
