ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE: Bowers & Pitsea must beat league leaders Haringey Borough tomorrow if they are to be in with a chance of winning the Essex Senior League crown.
Despite Bowers incredible recent form, which has seen them go unbeaten in 26 games since the beginning of November – a club record that stretches back to 1977 - it appears they may fall just short of the title with Borough needing only one more win to secure the crown.
Bowers beat Tower Hamlets 3-0 on Wednesday but will be without strikers Lewis Manor and Rob Whitnell for the game, the two having contributed a remarkable 66 goals this term.
Hullbridge Sports are looking to continue their assault on fourth-place when Ilford come to Lower Road.
Sports beat London Bari on Tuesday and know another win will all but confirm a top four finish, with games in hand on the sides below them.
Basildon United visit Tower Hamlets as they look to arrest a rotten run of form that has left a top-half finish unlikely.
Bees had lost their last seven games and were beaten 5-1 by fierce rivals Bowers & Pitsea on Monday.
However a 3-3 draw at London Bari on Wednesday put a stop to that losing run, although Craig Gillam says Bees have a number of injury worries.
Sanchez Hardy, Billy Field, George Light, Matt Thoma and Russ Harley are all out for the game.
Southend Manor visit Eton Manor knowing a win could see them climb two places in the division.
Wayne Seal’s team were thumped 6-1 on Tuesday by Sawbridgeworth.
