CANVEY Island have signed striker Martin Tuohy from AFC Hornchurch as manager Danny Heale looks to reinforce his forward options.
Thirty-year-old Tuohy has made quite an impression with the Urchins since he signed five seasons ago, helping them into the former Conference South in 2013.
But, following back-to-back relegations, Tuohy has now linked up with the Gulls and becomes their sixth signing of the summer.
Tuohy found the net against Canvey last season, and is a former winner of the Ryman Premier League Golden Boot.
“Martin is a proven goalscorer at this level and is another signing with bags of experience,” said Heale.
“He's been with Hornchurch for a good few years and needs a fresh challenge, and with injuries behind him and a solid pre-season I’m sure he will be back firing on all cylinders for us this year.”
Tuohy joins goalkeeper Jake Larkins, defenders Richard Halle and Steve Sheehan and midfielders Glenn Poole and Tambeson Eyong in linking up with the club.
