ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE: Hullbridge Sports will be looking to compound Greenhouse London’s misery when they visit Lower Road this weekend.

Sports, unbeaten in league and cup so far this season under new management, have started the season with a win and a draw, before progressing in the FA Cup Preliminary Round last weekend.

Manager Rob Hodgson will be hopeful of extending that good start against the side rooted to the foot of the standings tomorrow, having lost all three of their games, and is likely to start the same team that beat Hadleigh United last weekend.

Although he says he would love to secure a first clean sheet of the season.

“We still keep letting goals in and that concerns me, but we are unbeaten, so I can't moan too much.

“These are the games we need to win, that we drew or lost last season. It's pointless playing Bowers or Barking and picking up wins, only to drop points against the bottom sides.

“We can compete with anybody on our day, but we need to be up for every game and not just the glamour games. We have a fantastic spirit in the dressing room and I want that noise and passion out on the pitch.”

Midfielder Bobby Barker is unlikely to feature as he is still uncertainty as to the seriousness of the injury, with Kurtis Clarke also not expected to play, as he is on holiday.

Bowers & Pitsea are currently at the top of the division, after back-to-back wins in the league, but they were surprisingly beaten by Ilford in the FA Cup last weekend, their first competitive defeat at home since last October.

They resume against London Bari tomorrow, and will be eyeing a repeat of the 3-1 win from last season.

Rob Small is without Chris Bryan and Vinny Durrant, while Ross Adams is unnavailable.

Southend Manor host Takeley tomorrow, as they look to build on their encouraging start to the campaign.

Despite only taking a point from their opening two games, Wayne Seal’s men progressed in the FA Cup last weekend and will be in buoyant mood heading into another game at Southchurch Park.

Seal has a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Basildon United do not play in the league this weekend, but have a home friendly against Laindon Orient.
