FA CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND: Southend Manor manager Wayne Seal is ready for the biggest game of his burgeoning managerial career when he takes his side to Harlow Town in the FA Cup this weekend.

The Essex Senior League outfit visit the Ryman One North favourites tomorrow, aiming to cause what would be one of the upsets of the round.

Manor are still searching for their first win of the season in the league but beat Codicote to set up the tie on the Harlow Arena’s 3G surface.

“It is my biggest game in management to date,” said Seal, who is in his second year in charge. “The players and I are excited and, although we are aware of the size of the challenge, we want to give it a really good go.

“We have no fear and that is the sort of mantra I have instilled at the club. The boys are looking forward to playing on the 3G as we played a lot of pre-season on the artificial surface at The Chase, in Southend.

“We have done our homework on Harlow and we know how much it would mean to the club and it would be great to give something back.”

Hullbridge Sports will be looking to get the better of Ryman One North opposition - Maldon & Tiptree.

The north Essex side, who recently linked-up with Colchester United, head to Lower Road although Sports’ first team coach Aaron Hunwicks says the team is ready to upset them, having beaten the higher-ranked Hadleigh United already.

“We know they have a lot of firepower, but they have already let in 12 goals this season. They are very much mid-table in their league and we will fancy a crack at anybody the way we are playing at the moment.”

Sports have a fully-fit squad, with player/ manager Rob Hodgson likely to make his return to the team.

Basildon United host Long Melford in the cup, hoping to set up a tie with Hullbridge should they both win.

Craig Gillam will be without Grant Hayward and Justin Maynard.

Bowers & Pitsea, knocked out of the cup at the first hurdle, take on Newham at the Len Salmon Stadium in a league match.

Chris Bryan is out, with Jamie Salmon, Billy Sendall, Alfie Hilton and Ross Adams all serious doubts.

Vinny Durrant and Frank Evertt should be available.
