THE PREVIEW: East Thurrock are likely to make changes for this Essex Senior Cup clash although their limited squad, which is riddled with injuries, may mean a number of the players who played on Saturday feature again.
Great Wakering lost their first match under new manager Gary Ansell on Saturday, as they went down 2-1 against Maldon & Tiptree, and he wants a response at Rookery Hill.
So much so that he will be playing his strongest XI as he looks to improve Rovers’ record in cup competitions.
WHAT THEY SAID: Rocks manager John Coventry: “You need to decide how important these competitions are at the start of the season. We are struggling with injuries and suspensions and that means we will be changing a few things around.”
Rovers boss Gary Ansell said: “We didn’t deserve anything against Maldon & Tiptree but we will be taking our strongest squad to East Thurrock and we will give it a really good go.
“We believe we can progress in the competition and will give it everything we have got.”
